TOP TIPS FOR SELLERS

  1. In the event of rain phone to check if open before setting out on 07947 121336, to hear the up to minute message or look on website.
  2. There are no bookings, just turn up, payment on entrance when a steward will direct you.
  3. Bring something like a pasting table, clothes rail or plastic ground sheet to sell your items from. (Also could bring a garden table, blankets, tarpaulin or cardboard boxes.) We do not provide these.
  4. You can arrange your items on a cloth, it looks appealing, but it is not necessary.
  5. The Sellers who use gazebos, do so entirely at their own risk and are responsible for their own gazebos being secure.
  6. Get there on time if you can as there are usually early buyers and you don’t want to miss out.
  7. Have some idea of what price you are charging, you can price up articles if you like, but it’s not necessary, bring lots of small change so you are prepared for a sale and be prepared for bartering. Don’t hold on to things if you can’t get exactly the price you want, remember it’s the whole amount you go home with at the end of the day that matters.
  8. If when arriving at your pitch, there is a crowd waiting, do not feel panicked into unloading, just lock up your car and wait to get your things out until after they have gone, they will return later.
  9. Make sure if you sell electric items that they work, are safe and have plugs on.
  10. It’s a good idea to do your selling with a companion, then you have the freedom to take turns to visit the loo or get food/drinks or generally have a look around and pick up that bargain.
  11. Always be aware of unscrupulous people, as Car Boot Sales are no different to anywhere else in Society, keep your money on you and keep a look out on your table. Also keep your unused car doors locked.
  12. Good idea to bring a plastic sheet in case it rains to just throw over your table, then you can start selling again as soon as it stops.
  13. Remember our Car Boots are operated on lovely green fields in an environmentally friendly area, always take all rubbish and all unsold goods home with you.  UNSOLD GOODS AND RUBBISH ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE LEFT ON THE CAR BOOT SITE.
  14.  Tip for the very hot weather for Sellers and Buyers (sent in by a longstanding Seller of 28 years) Bring an umbrella to protect from sun, bring a bottle of frozen water to spray on you. (If you bring your dog, make sure he drink loads of water).  There are plenty of cold drinks available to buy at the Catering concessions.
